Kylie - First Feeding

It's hard to believe my little girl is now eating rice cereal. I wanted to hold her off for awhile but she gets so mad at us for eating in front of her that I figured she was ready. Plus her whole life she's watched me feed Cali (the 14 month old baby I watch) and I guess Kylie wanted to try eating too. She was a natural. In fact, she'd steal the spoon away from me and feed herself! When I stop feeding her to grab my own bite of food she doesn't appreciate the pause she prefers me to keep feeding her until she thinks she's done. It's very cute. There are a few pictures below for your enjoyment. : )

We can't believe how quickly our precious baby is growing. Just over a month ago Kylie started rolling over. She will roll from her left side but hasn't quite mastered it from her right side. At first she would get mad after she rolled to her belly but now she either rolls back over or cries until we move her back on her backside. It's really cute to watch her as she's getting more mobile.

She's now trying to sit up on her own. She does last a few seconds before toppling over but she's learning. The family I babysit for has a Bumbo chair and she enjoys sitting in there while I feed the other baby and make the older kids meals. That chair is a great invention - it gives the child an opportunity to see their surroundings without feeling strapped in.

One bad habit Kylie has learned recently is screaming at the top of her lungs. She's found her voice and loves to hear it. It's definitely high pitched and tends to hurt your ears after awhile but it's still pretty cute.

Kylie and Grandma Moffat

My Grandma loves to rock the babies and this year she had 3 to chose from. Kylie loves to be rocked so she and her Great Grandma bonded very well until G-Grandma's electric blanket would get Kylie too hot. And of course I had to have my family take a picture with her. When I come to town I love to spend as much time with her as I can since I never know if that will be the last time I see her.

More Christmas and the Giant Snow Bear

My husband Avery is a great sculptor in the snow and he knows it. In fact, this is the 2nd time he's built one at my parents house but last year it was my favorite: a Frog. Somewhere we have a pic of that and I'll have to find it to blog about. He's already planning for what he'll build next year and our nieces and nephews can't wait to see the new creation.

This pic lets you see how big it really is and how tiny my daughter is... We loved the snowbear!

Santa decided to pop into the basement of my parents house on Christmas Eve. Kylie loved sitting on Santa's lap! Hopefully next year she'll be just as excited.

Christmas!

Avery and Zach (my sister Rachelle's oldest)

My Dad with Zach (2), Drew (4 months) and Kylie almost 4 months

All the babies born within 12 months:
Chet (15 months) Garrett (9 months) and Drew and Kylie 4 months

Kylie with her newest cousin Fiona. Fi makes Kylie look huge since she was just over a week old.

We were able to fly to Utah for Christmas this year and spend it with my Family. Unfortunately, we flew out on my 30th birthday so I didn't really celebrate this year. My brothers wife Suzie had their baby on Dec. 13th so we were able to see her. Sadly, she had to spend a week in the NICU but had been home for 2 days by the time we arrived so Kylie was able to meet her cousin Fiona. Due to the winter wonderland in Utah the week of Christmas I wasn't able to see everyone I wanted to and never made it to my favorite Cafe Rio. Oh well, there will definitely be a next time.

1st Anniversary

Yippee! We celebrated our 1 yr anniversary on Nov. 17th. Unfortunately, I don't have a pic to post because I accidentally forgot our camera. The night was super snowy but we decided to go out anyway. Avery surprised me with a sitter and when I got in the car there was a single rose sitting on the passenger seat. Then, he took me to Abuelo's which is a Mexican restuarant that is special to us. It's where we had our first date and it's also where we took our parents the first time we introduced them. While we were at Abuelo's Avery had the hostess bring me a platter with a Jodi Picoult book and another single rose. Jodi Picoult is my favorite author so he made sure to surprise me with one of her books. I loved it! After dinner we decided to go home since the roads were getting pretty bad and we wanted to get the sitter home safely. When I walked into our room to get ready for bed there was another Jodi Picoult book lying on the bed with a single rose. It was awesome! He did a great job for our Anniversary! I love you Avery!

Kylie

Kylie had a photo shoot awhile back and we just got the pics in the mail so I have to share a few. It was so much fun to get her pics taken and I can't wait to do it again.

Finally!

Sorry for no updates in like a month! I can really use the excuse of life has been uber crazy. While we were in Utah last month we found out that Avery actually did not get a job he applied for in Kansas. (Long story and most of you probably didn't even know we might move to Kansas so I will spare the details on that) We got back from Utah the 20th of October so that left us 11 days to find and move into a new apartment in Cleveland. Talk about stressful. Luckily we had some friends from church moving to Turks and Caicos for 6 months and offered their home to us while they are gone. The only problem was they weren't leaving until the 10th of Novemeber and we needed to be out by Oct. 31st. Once again, we were blessed by Friends from church who welcomed us into their home (same friends I lived with for two months before Avery and I got married). Avery took a couple days off from work and we packed everything up and moved it all out on Oct. 31st and into the unfinished basement of the home we're living in for 6 months, then moved in with Hegewald's for 10 days.

Now we are in the new place and finally got our computer set up. The deal with living in someone's home while they are gone for 6 months means using all the stuff while ours is in storage (the basement). We of course traded out for our amazing bed but pretty much everything else belongs to them. Oh, but I did have to bring up my lovesac. We will be very spoiled here for sure. It's in a gated community (so I guess we'll be safe) and we have the use of their wall mounted flat screen that is like 90 inches. I'm just very thankful to them for the use of their home while Avery searches for jobs again. Definitely buys us some time not being locked into a contract or anything.

Kylie is growing like a weed and she can't wait to meet the rest of her aunts, uncles and cousins at Christmas! Especially Baby Fiona who makes her debut hopefully sometime next week! Hang in there Suzie - you're almost there!
