1st Anniversary

Yippee! We celebrated our 1 yr anniversary on Nov. 17th. Unfortunately, I don't have a pic to post because I accidentally forgot our camera. The night was super snowy but we decided to go out anyway. Avery surprised me with a sitter and when I got in the car there was a single rose sitting on the passenger seat. Then, he took me to Abuelo's which is a Mexican restuarant that is special to us. It's where we had our first date and it's also where we took our parents the first time we introduced them. While we were at Abuelo's Avery had the hostess bring me a platter with a Jodi Picoult book and another single rose. Jodi Picoult is my favorite author so he made sure to surprise me with one of her books. I loved it! After dinner we decided to go home since the roads were getting pretty bad and we wanted to get the sitter home safely. When I walked into our room to get ready for bed there was another Jodi Picoult book lying on the bed with a single rose. It was awesome! He did a great job for our Anniversary! I love you Avery!

Kylie

Kylie had a photo shoot awhile back and we just got the pics in the mail so I have to share a few. It was so much fun to get her pics taken and I can't wait to do it again.

Finally!

Sorry for no updates in like a month! I can really use the excuse of life has been uber crazy. While we were in Utah last month we found out that Avery actually did not get a job he applied for in Kansas. (Long story and most of you probably didn't even know we might move to Kansas so I will spare the details on that) We got back from Utah the 20th of October so that left us 11 days to find and move into a new apartment in Cleveland. Talk about stressful. Luckily we had some friends from church moving to Turks and Caicos for 6 months and offered their home to us while they are gone. The only problem was they weren't leaving until the 10th of Novemeber and we needed to be out by Oct. 31st. Once again, we were blessed by Friends from church who welcomed us into their home (same friends I lived with for two months before Avery and I got married). Avery took a couple days off from work and we packed everything up and moved it all out on Oct. 31st and into the unfinished basement of the home we're living in for 6 months, then moved in with Hegewald's for 10 days.

Now we are in the new place and finally got our computer set up. The deal with living in someone's home while they are gone for 6 months means using all the stuff while ours is in storage (the basement). We of course traded out for our amazing bed but pretty much everything else belongs to them. Oh, but I did have to bring up my lovesac. We will be very spoiled here for sure. It's in a gated community (so I guess we'll be safe) and we have the use of their wall mounted flat screen that is like 90 inches. I'm just very thankful to them for the use of their home while Avery searches for jobs again. Definitely buys us some time not being locked into a contract or anything.

Kylie is growing like a weed and she can't wait to meet the rest of her aunts, uncles and cousins at Christmas! Especially Baby Fiona who makes her debut hopefully sometime next week! Hang in there Suzie - you're almost there!

Matt's wedding

My parents with Brenna and Kylie

Corrin, me and Brenna

My Brother Brett and his wife Melanie

The stage at Tuacahn

The Kirk Family at the Wedding

Avery's brother Matt was married on Oct. 18th in the St. George Temple so that meant VACATION!!! I excuses to get away and travel. Avery, Kylie and I flew out to Vegas with his family. Then rented a van and drove another 2 hours to St George. We had a blast! Not only did I get my Cafe Rio and In-n-Out fix but we also got a special behind the scenes tour at Tuacahn (Utah's famously known outdoor theater). Matt, Michelle (Matt's wife) and I had been to Tuacahn before but none of the Kirk Family had so we wanted to show them what it was all about. We happened to be at the right place at the right time at Tuacahn while they were setting up for the next production that was to begin the week after we left. A very nice worker asked us if we wanted to the stage. Of course we took his offer and he showed us where they do wardrobe changes, where the props are stored and even took us in the secret passageway under the stage that gets the actors from one side of the stage to the other during performaces. It was very cool. We also went to the Jacob Hamlin home in Santa Clara to do a little church tour. For all you Utahans our missionary who took us through was Mark Eubank that retired as KSL's weatherman. That was a fun treat to speak with him. When I told my brother Mark was our guide he asked me if he was wearing his white suit... Of course he wasn't since it was 87 degrees in St George that day. (The joke behind that is whenever it was going to snow in Utah Mark would wear a white suit on TV so you knew snow was on the way) I meant to get a picture with Mark but I had a fussy baby that needed to eat so I lost my chance.

Another highlight of the trip was my parents coming down and bringing Brenna and Corrin (2 of my neices). My brother and family also came down to see us. It was great to see all of you guys so thank you for making the 4 1/2 hour drive down! We miss you and can't wait to see you at Christmas!

Kylie's Baby Blessing

My Mom this beautiful dress at Broadbents in Lehi. I love baby's in blessing dresses. They are just so adorable!

Kylie was blessed on Sept 21st (yeah I'm way behind). My parents had been in Atlanta on business the week before so they flew up here to spend a week before heading back home. Even though she was about 3 weeks old we decided to go ahead and bless her so my parents could be a part of it. My Dad hasn't seen his new grandbaby so of course he wanted to spend as time with her as he could. It was great to see him holding Kylie. He's so good with all his grandkids but I think his favorite are the babies. Thanks Mom and Dad for spoiling us while you were here! We love you!

Wow time flies!

Oh my gosh, I am such a slacker. We have had so many things going on it's insane. First of all I'll post the weekly pics of Kylie. It's been so much fun to watch her grow and especially see her hit new milestones. She's been smiling at us since she was 6 weeks. I was feeding her at 5 in the morning and when I looked down at her she was smiling at me. She is so sweet & growing like a weed. Her 2 month check up was last week and she's 11 lbs 7 oz and 22 in long.

Update 2

So I'm a little behind on posting these but each week I take a picture of her to see how she's progressing. Sort of a fun idea I stole from one of my friends.

My little girl has changed so much even in such a short time. I love this picture of her sitting in her green boppy. She is so alert and this other picture in her chair. It's like she is pondering something. Both pictures were taken at two weeks. It's interesting how much darker her hair is getting.

Kylie and I had the opportunity to drive to Traverse City, Michigan with Avery on Sunday. It was long drive made even longer having an infant in the car but it was nice to get out of the house for a few days. Kylie did a great job being stuck in a car for 8+ hours but was definitely ready to be out of that carseat once we made it home. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of Kylie's first trip but I figured I'd post some pics I've taken recently. The purpose for the trip was so Avery could get his multi engine rating. You probably want to know what the heck a multi engine rating is. Well, it basically lets Avery fly planes with more than one engine. Before this rating he could only fly single engine planes. This now gives him a chance to go higher in his career so it's a big deal for us.

Update

Kylie is starting to grow so I figured I'd better add some pics before she starts changing again. She is such a great baby. During the day she wants to eat every 2 hours or sometimes even sooner but at night she will go a good 3 hours and let her Mommy get some sleep. Avery works pretty late these days so I don't get much help from him but when he is home he will do whatever I need him to like change Kylie's diaper... He's actually very good at getting Kylie to burp after I feed her.

This picture with Avery & Kylie was taken the day we got home from the hospital.

Kylie was wide awake and she was only 48 hours old.

My cute Kylie just a few days old.

Her first bath in the kitchen sink. I was surprised at how well she liked it. Most infants this young that I have bathed would cry through the whole thing. Not my baby. She was so calm and relaxed.

It's a Girl!!!!

This is the picture of me that we took right before we left for the hospital on Tuesday Night so I could be induced.....
Just after Kylie was born and freshly wiped down. They were checking her vitals and such.
Me holding my beautiful baby after I quit feeling light headed & queezy.... (fun stuff)
My peaceful baby sleeping the next morning.

We had a baby Girl Born Aug. 27th at 6:04pm. We named her Kylie and she weighed 7 lbs 8 oz. She was 20 inches long. I'm a biased Mother but she is beautiful!!! Here's a few pictures but I need to go get some shut eye so more pics will come later.

Baby Kirk

Just got back from my Dr's and they are inducing me at 6pm tonight. It will of course be the long waiting game but we should have Baby Kirk make his or her arrival sometime tomorrow. Good thing since my Mom, Deena and Chet fly in tomorrow night!

When Avery gets home from work I will take the last prego pic and post it when I post Baby pics. I will TRY and I really mean TRY to post Baby pics as soon as I can so you all can see.

Baby Blanket

Wow, I finally finished the receiving blanket I've been working on for Baby. It took a little more time than I thought it would but man it was well worth it. In fact, it turned out better than I thought it would. The time consuming part for me was cutting the two pieces of material to match up and then sewing them together. I was using a sewing machine from church that I swear was made in 1980. I'm sure it wasn't but it was lame all the same. Of course my Mother had to show me how to do the edging while I was home a couple weeks ago but she never did get to show me how to make the shells - that she had to explain to me over the phone and I think it turned out well. I would have finished it sooner but for some reason now in my pregnancy my hands go numb for no reason so after I'd make a handful of shells around the edges I'd have to take a break to get the feeling back in my fingers. Apparently it's normal but I'm sick of waking up in the middle of the night with my right arm numb and aching and me unable to go back to sleep for over an hour every time but that is a whole nother post in itself. Back to the blanket... I've posted a handful of pictures so you can get the idea of how it looks. A couple of the pics are the front and back of the blanket and the others are closeups on the edging I crocheted. And yes that is my GIANT LoveSac being used as the backdrop.

Update

Ever since we got back from our trip out West I've started babysitting for a family in our ward. They have 6 kids so you might think that at 9 months pregnant what was I thinking... Don't worry I've asked myself that question too but really these kids are good. Ages are 15, 8, 5, twin 2 yr olds, and an 8 month old. The 15 yr old has been at a few camps and youth conference so he hasn't been around much and the 8 and 5 yr old are a big help. It also helps that both the baby and the twins sleep for about 3 plus hours in the afternoon. I must do a good job at wearing them out in the morning or something. The poor parents, I bet those kids don't sleep very well for them at night... And yes, I am planning on continuing to watch these kids after Baby Kirk makes its arrival at the end of the month (but with a couple weeks off at least) and by then the three older will be in school so I might even be able to squeeze in a nap for myself when ALL the kids are sleeping.

Avery on the other hand is still working crazy hours but somehow has managed to go golfing 2 times last week. Working 6 days a week I guess he deserves a few hours off during the day to play. He's also brought it upon himself to go househunting for us. He does the hard work of searching and then shopping with the realitor. All I have to do is drive up and check out the good ones. We did make an offer on a house a week or so ago but now have changed our minds regarding that one and backed out. We're really in no hurry and with the market being a "buyers market" right now we can pick and choose a little.

Grandma Moffat

So as bad as this picture is of Avery and I, I couldn't resist putting a couple of pics of my wonderful Grandma on my blog. She of course looks great in both pics and it's very rare to see her look so happy. I just hope it isn't the last time I see her alive. She really needs to meet my new little one at Christmas.

Avery and I had the opportunity to drive her from Driggs, ID down to my parents house which is about a 5 hour drive. But, in the first 45 minutes from Driggs to Rexburg she was so excited to show us different landmarks that she remembered. You could tell it was bittersweet for her to leave that beautiful valley behind. I of course knew all the landmarks she was pointing out but Avery didn't so it was fun for him to hear them. She showed us where my Grandpa's barber shop was, her childhood winter home, the church went to as a child, her sisters house before she passed away, a few other relatives homes, the Teton Dam and my sister Rachelle's home she just moved out of. For a 91 year old who can't really see anymore I was amazed she remembered where these things were. Love you Grammie!

(I couldn't resist taking this pic of her when she was not paying attention)...

Baby Shower

My amazing friend Emily and my Mother threw me a wonderful Baby Shower at my parents house while we were in Lehi for 1 day. Thanks Mom and Em for the hard work you put into the shower! It was alot of fun and I enjoyed seeing everyone again! While the girls played Avery and my Father went to dinner and had a Guys night out.

Trip Part 2

This is a picture of my Grandma's home she grew up in on her Family's Dry Farm. It's amazing to me that as sad as it looks it's still standing. All my brothers and sisters decided to drive out and see it since it's probably the last time some of us will be out there.

Grandma's house that she moved into when she got married. It's where my Mom and her brothers grew up. My Grandma lives with my parents now so it was time to go through Grandma's things and let all the Moffat Family divide up all her stuff and put the house up for sale.

This is the house my father grew up in.

And lastly my favorite Mountains ever! The Tetons (from the Idaho side)

Trip

View of the Tetons from Jackson Hole

Us at West Thumb Geyser Basin

One of the many Buffalo we saw in the park

So we recently returned from our trip out West. It was such a blast to see family and friends again. As soon as we flew into SLC Avery and I picked up my Mom's car that she left us at the airport and drove the 5 hours to Driggs, ID. Along the way we made a couple of stops so I could see a couple friends. The first one was to the Williamson's. We called Steve who was at an auto auction and asked him to see where is wife Kerma was. When he told us she was home Avery and I decided to play a little trick on her. Avery went to the door while I hid behind their gargage and he pretended to be an alarm salesman. It would have worked but he used his real name so after a few minutes she figured out he belonged to me.

After we left Kerma we drove a few hours and then stopped in Firth, ID to see my bestest buddy Heidi-Ho. Also very great to see her, Ryan and the girls. They showed us around the house Ryan has been building. Which Ry-Guy has done a fabulous job with!!! It's awesome!

Later that night we finally ended up in Driggs and were able to visit with some of the Family. My sis Deena, Harley (bro-in-law) and kids came up that night too and then the next Morning Avery and I took of for a day in Yellowstone with them. It was great to see my neices get excited when they saw different animals in the Park. Above are a few pics from Yellowstone

Slacker

Okay, yeah I know I've been a blogging slacker. Just been a little busy - I've been house/dog sitting and have not had my own computer to upload my photos to. When I get back from Idaho there will be lots and lots to blog about I promise.

I'm almost at 33 weeks and very much expanding so I promise to post pics next week.

Week 29

Today marks the start of 29 weeks of the pregnancy so it's time to show the growing belly bump. Time is flying by, I can't believe it's already been that long. I made Avery get in on the fun of taking pictures. We had just gotten back from YM/YW's so it'd be a long day which is why we both look like we just want to get it over with... LOL

p.s.. those who have been bugging me to set up a baby registry. I should have that done by Saturday. I'll blog about it this weekend to let you know.
